As you are with Evan WhiteSimba Jager, but even more so, I have utmost respect for YODA KIPCHOGE. Here's why.

Yoda is truly astonishing. His focus, Zen discipline, goal-orientation and work ethic know no bounds. His monastic training camp lifestyle stands at stark odds with that of the partiers who have also achieved success in the past, for instance the sad case of Wanjiru. His self-confidence, respect, and lack of aggrandizement are in contrast to many other worldclass athletes. He is humble, reflective and feels no need to diminish others. They live in a different universe and we all know it.

I cannot imagine any other competitor showing disrespect for KIPCHOGE no matter how badly he beats them in the races. That would be self-destructive and immature in the extreme.

He seems ethereal compared with regular mortals or even BOLT - for whom adulation and material success including juvenile obsession with fast cars seems de rigeur. BOLT was a champion athlete but a dilettante outside of his core sport. We shall see the results when Bolt's sporting career is truly over and he recognizes it himself...he'll go off the rails like so many before him.

I expect no such problem for KIPCHOGE.

Then there are the PEDs. Other athletes I half- (or even fully) expect to be busted. I don't believe KIPCHOGE is suspicious in spite of his historic performances, range, and durability. What's more, I pray this does not happen with KIPCHOGE.

We all need someone to look up to as exemplars of what is good in sport and KIPCHOGE is the JEDI of running. He outclasses every other runner in all respects. If ever we need to offer one example of a sportsman who embodies everything that is great about this sport, it must be KIPCHOGE. Revere his accomplishments and his stature.

BTW I don't even believe he's finished with the marathon WR.

This is not a new theory.  Some sites have speculated about signs of Williams using PED's before.
But this week on LR, we have this thread...

    The first NFL player who holds play up by similarly questioning/impugning/insulting the female ref is going to get ejected pronto. Everyone knows it. I bet the coaches have been at pains to reinforce, say nothing to her, take the 50-yard penalty and loss of two downs, keep away from her, etc. Serena is not setting a good example with her conduct towards the male umpire when supposedly the most ignorant and sexist abusive NFL brutes show far more respect to their female ump.....

    Secondly, there is standing up for oneself, and then there is crossing a line. Serena lost her cool, plain and simple, and at a very bad time. Demanding the umpire apologize to her in front everyone? A baseball player would be hitting the showers for that comment.
    
    Regarding BLK’s “passionate v hysterical” comments... Throughout her career, Serena has been called nothing but passionate for pumping her fist and yelling “come on” during her matches. It’s been one of her main attributes. In this instance, she lost her temper, but I don’t recall anyone referring to her conduct as “hysterical.” That’s just BJK adding to the hyperbole.

    I like Serena. I don't think she should just lie down and be submissive (except in my bed, of course) but there are boundaries and she oversteps them. Social media princesses have gotten used to fawning and achieving results by bullying - which is what Serena was doing here.
    
    The next problem, ROID RAGE. We all remember Benjy, well, there are parallels here... Serena's later-career event domination, her bulked/ripped physical form, occasional medical absences from comp, roid rage outbursts, etc, are all a familiar pattern to many of us here. I hope not, but the signs are notable. Because of our own sport's long history, we t&f viewers/competitors are among the most discerning and informed fans when it comes to identifying circusmtantial signs of PED use.
